Chairperson's Message
The Mongolian Naran Society for Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Health’s International Conference on Bone and Muscle Health 2025 will be held in Ulaanbaatar on September 12, 2025. Our early bird rates end on 15 August.
Our Story
The Mongolian Naran Society for Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Health (MNSOMH) was established on February 22, 2022 as a non-profit, academic, research, and community-oriented organization. We provide knowledge and information about osteoporosis, bone, muscle, and musculoskeletal disorders, and work to improve the quality of health education and care in Mongolia.
Our Society works with six permanent doctors and researchers, and has published or presented four scientific abstracts and four articles in international, impact-factor journals.
Timeline
- February 22, 2022 — Mongolian Naran Society founded
- June 14, 2022 — Became a member society of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF)
- October 20, 2022 — Held an event for World Osteoporosis Day in Ulaanbaatar
- November 4, 2022 — Developed the Mongolian version of SarQoL, approved by ESCEO
- May 4–7, 2023 — Presented at the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2023 World Congress in Barcelona; received the Best Regional Campaign 2023 award
- November 24–26, 2023 — Presented Mongolia’s first study on multiple sclerosis at the Pan-Asian MS Congress
Our Fields
- National guidelines — developing national guidelines on osteoporosis
- Medical research — building a medical research center focused on musculoskeletal health
- Co-working internationally — expanding cooperation with international societies
- Strategy — problem-based solutions for musculoskeletal disorders, including Capture the Fracture® and Trabecular Bone Score initiatives
- Professional society — developing national and international experts in osteoporosis
Achievements
- 2022 — Became an international member society of the IOF; member Bolyskhan B. was awarded APSR membership
- 2022 — Researchers D. Amarsaikhan and M. Jaalkhorol received the Research Award of the WCO-IOF-ESCEO
- May 2023 — Received fee-free registration to the IOF Congress on two occasions
- 2023 — Awarded Best Regional Campaign 2023
- 2023 — Published articles in impact-factor international journals; member Bolyskhan B. received an award from the Japanese Respiratory Society
